Snorkeling Near Lahaina, HI
If you enjoy snorkeling, you’ll find some of the world’s best near Lahaina, Maui! The water temperatures vary throughout the year, ranging from 74 to 85 degrees seasonally, which provides ideal conditions for snorkeling. If you’re an early bird (or even if you’re not), try early morning Lahaina snorkeling; this is the best time for great visibility and calm water. Honolua Bay
Honolua Bay is one of Maui’s best snorkel spots. Hop in your car and drive just a short ten to fifteen minutes down the road from Hale Napili. This marine preserve is filled with many varieties of colorful fish.
Molokini Crater
If you want to adventure, take a tour boat to the famous Molokini Crater. Located just off the south coast of Maui, you’ll see volcanic formations and marine life. Molokini crater is a fish sanctuary and is a great snorkeling locale.
La Perouse Bay
Located on the south side of Maui, visitors must hike over lava rocks to reach this bay, perfect for those who like a bit more of an adventure. La Perouse Bay is filled with coral reefs, fish, and best of all? You may even see dolphins while you’re snorkeling! The dolphins commonly come in around dawn to play.
